IDEALLY NAUGHTY - 2 (PART IV)

PART IV

STRUGGLE

Something was poking Sanjay, he thought it might be a stone so he ignored. But then he realized that poking was deliberate and his brain signaled him of danger. He kept his eyes closed and moved acting as if he was adjusting himself in sleep and moved his hand towards his knife. As soon as he reached, he grabbed it and woke up lightning fast showing the knife. The Aadivasi’s got frightened by this act and started shouting. Sanjay was confused, questioning himself, who are they and what are they doing here? This shouting woke Shobha and Kaminibai. Shobha got cautious and also removed her knife. Kaminibai smiled and told both of them to put their knife’s down and convinced her children that these are harmless people. She went ahead to talk with them. As they came to know who she is, all of them went on their knees.  Sanjay and Shobha still in confusion. Kaminibai told them to raise and asked for shelter. They were happy and arranged horses for them. The Gaura’s were riding on horses and the Vaasi’s walking with them. They soon reached their Niwas Sthan (Place where they live). The Gaura’s were welcomed with flowers and drums, their traditional way of welcoming a honorary person. Sanjay and Shobha still confused what is going on.

The Gaura’s were then taken by the Mukhya to his house and was welcomed by washing their feets and putting a Tilak on their forehead chanting ‘JAI BHAVANI.’ Gaura’s were then made to sit and were given a special juice made of ayurvedic herbs and a piece of jaggery. Sanjay and Shobha made faces while drinking that which made people laugh and the moment light. They all started interacting and time passed. It was night and the Gaura’s had their dinner with the Vaasi’s. As the day ended the curious Gaura’s kids couldn’t control themselves and had to ask, “Who are they AAI? How do they know us? Why did they went on their knees?” To this Kaminibai smiled and said, “Once upon a time there was a MAN who had a brilliant personality but was on wheelchair due illness. It was his daughters marriage and everyone around were happy. Marriage was set to happen at the grooms village and it went in a proper way and the bride side were now travelling back to their village. While coming they had to pass through this Niwas Sthan. When they entered, no one was around. But the clothes, utensils were lying outside like a mess. Pin drop silence was there. People sensed something unusual as many of them use to pass this place and it was always a chaos around here, but what happened today. Then that man who was on the wheelchair stopped everyone and was trying to get up. His faithful child gave him a hand while standing. He went ahead and was picking a cloth. He saw the foot marks, they were familiar to him. He gave a look around and then he came to know what’s the matter. He smoothly dragged his hand towards his waist, held his knife and threw at the opposite side of where he was watching. BULLSEYE!!!! A Lootera(goon) was just killed by that man. The time this happened, the lootera’s hopped from the hiding surrounding these people. Less they knew that these were none other than the people of Gaura’s. Even if they were outnumbered, they had the courage to fight till the last breath and they did. That Man also fought for these villagers. It was he who said that we would either kill you or die. But he never expected that this would be his last. While fighting with 2 lootera’s this man was attacked by one from the back as they knew they couldn’t compete. His son was so angry that like a flash he ended the war as he could not take this. The war ended, Gaura’s won but they lost their best Mukhya. That Man was none other than RAMCHANDRA GAURA, your grandfather. That faithfull and angry son was your dad who killed these lootera’s like it was a piece of paper. The villagers were sad that because of them the Gaura’s lost their most important person. They gave agni to this man and said that the VAASI’S will always be grateful and faithful to his family. And this is why we are being treated in such a way.”

Sanjay and Shobha were feeling proud but also sad as they could not see their grandfather. “Your Great Grandfather had won various such battles, later he gave the throne to your Grandfather. He too never lost any battle, but the similarities between them was that none of them went to expand their territory. They were happy with what they had and wanted to excel in every aspect. All the battles held were against those who tried to capture our village but none of them succeeded. We never forced ourselves on anyone. Our land had always welcomed everyone with hands open. Today in townside and rest of the country we have constitution and we are republic citizens. But villages like Gaurawadi and someothers are spared from this as they still haven’t invaded us in anyways. We still rule like the kings and will be ruling till our people won’t feel insecure of their way and standard of living. Because our constitution is not ours, it still follows the British standards and our country will always lack to progress till the time we don’t have our own standards. Till now there were Brahmins and Kshatriyas who were discriminating the Vaishyas and the Shudras as the Untouchables. But Karma is a bitch, hope their children and grandchildren don’t suffer in a way they would never recover. Enough for the day, now go to sleep, tomorrow we would be leaving, they would guide us to our town.” Yay !!! said Shobha and Sanjay, who then went to sleep.

Later in the morning, the Vaasi’s and the Gaura’s started their day out and left for the journey.

Sanjay and Shobha felt so inspiring and were pumped after hearing their history. Now they were all set to go on one another adventurous ride to their town. Would this be the end to their troubled journey or God has still something up for them. To know more, hang on to this space. Do like, share and comment on the blog.
